May started with the installation of the site perimeter fencing, lanes closures on Francisco Street, and the pedestrian protection walkway along Olympic Boulevard. With Foundation, Shoring, and Grading Permits in hand the demolition, removal, and clearing of the existing parking lot began in preparation of the excavation, and shoring operations. The 97 temporary shoring beams have been installed and we began excavating the approximate 15,000 cubic yards of soil and hauling it away. During the excavation operations we also installed approximately 11,000 square feet of wood lagging between the shoring beams to support the adjacent soil; this operation includes pouring cement grout behind the lagging to provide a solid and clean excavation for the foundations.
